The lid on this pill box is formed with an ornate large bloom from the dogwood tree. The four petals representing the cross are carved from shining silver tone metal. At the end of each petal there is a notch which as legend has it, represents marks made by nails. The center is set with lovely clustered jonquil colored crystals and one larger Peridot color stone for the stamen. The pill box base is delicately etched gold tone metal which has the same floral medley repeated inside and out. An absolute treasure.
