This decorative bottle (often time a Vodka) holder.  More decorative than pratical.  Made In Russia. This is very unique Russian folk art with a very limited production.  Lathed, wood burned out lined and painted in Moscow by two folk artists.  The scene is the "vernisage" or market in Red Square in Old Moscow with St Basil's Cathedral as a back drop.  The Red Square we see on TV today once was the home of a market place which sold everything from icons to household items to food.  The technique used to create this piece is steeped in Russian folk art which is highly decorative.  Everything in the Russian home was made of wood - from the building itself to the dishes and eating utensils.  Because Russia has very long and dark winters their folk items were very colorful.  Each item is unique in terms of size and decoration.  An item for the real collector - a true Patriarch's Collection collectible.  RARE ITEM, AUTHENTIC RUSSIAN
